In 2014, I retired from a rewarding 30 year career in education, having spent 25 of those years as a Guidance Counselor. During that time, I had the privilege of interacting with students in a supportive context as they learned about themselves in their individual journeys. Naturally drawn to work that allows me to reach out to others, my experience as a counselor compelled me to start my own practice as a registered Psychotherapist.
I completed a 3-year training program through the Toronto Institute for Relational Psychotherapy. This program has focused both on theory and practice and provided me with several hundred hours of direct work with clients. I am also a proud member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
I bring to this work a strong desire to connect with others and to provide an environment that is both safe and welcoming for clients. I have been told that I am caring and compassionate and that people find me easy to talk to. I am genuinely interested and drawn to the experiences of others, and in how they make sense of these experiences. I am also someone who wants to have a deep and comprehensive understanding of my own process and this is something I encourage in my work with clients.
